High Desert Tree Care is a fully licensed and insured tree care and landscaping company committed to professionalism and education when it comes to the work we perform and how we perform it. We are constantly learning new and innovative ways to create a living environment that is both enjoyable and sustainable.

Ben Maddox is the owner of the company that he began in 2002 to address the need for more tree care professionals in Taos County. It began as a tree care company focusing on proper tree pruning and feeding and has expanded to tree planting, large scale landscape installations, irrigation systems, and water harvesting applications. We employ about six people seasonally and work hard to provide a professional business with our customers' needs being a priority.

Ben has been a practicing arborist since graduating from the College of Charleston in South Carolina in 1996. Ben worked for Historic Tree Preservation for three years prior to returning to his home state of New Mexico. Ben moved to Taos in 2000 to accept the position of Executive Director for the Bridges Project for Education where he remained until 2008 when he decided to focus his energy on High Desert Tree Care and Landscaping.
